Alternating Current Field Measurement (ACFM) Method
The Alternating Current Field Measurement (ACFM) method is an alternative to magnetic testing (MT) for the detection and sizing of flaws in magnetic materials. Because the probe does not make contact with the material, measurements can be obtained through coatings and scale. The alternating current magnetic field acts on the part being inspected and measurements are taken by detecting the disturbance of the magnetic field.
