3-D Seismic Simulator
Capable of simulating actual seismic waves

Keywords: earthquake, earthquake-proof testing, seismic wave

Overview

Following the great Kobe-Awaji earthquake disaster in 1995, earthquake-proof testing has been applied not only to power plant facilities but also to office equipment, furniture and other products.

Features of the seismic simulator

  1. Can simulate actual seismic waves (3-D and 6-DOF).
  2. Accommodates a maximum specimen weight of 35 tons. Under this loading condition, it generates maximum accelerations of 1.5 G (horizontal) and 1.0 G (vertical).
  3. The size of the seismic simulator is 4.5 m x 4.5 m. Bolt holes provided in the table surface make it easy to secure all sizes of specimens.
  4. Equipped with a 128-channel measuring and data processing system (DC~51.2 kHz).
  5. Driven by an electro-hydraulic servo system with an exciting frequency range of 0 to 50 Hz.
